Activities in 2018-2019 year
October 22 to 28, 2018 is Open Access Week. This week’s main topic is “Creating Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge”. Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI fully supported this principle!
The first donation from the Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI was made through Facebook for the young talents from Macedonia who traveled to Africa. Seven sponsors and 120 donors from all over the world collected money for the six students from Macedonia to go to the 15th International Junior Olympiad in Natural Sciences, which was held in Gaborone, Botswana in December 2018. The talented students together with the three mentors left for the African country.
With the paper “VERIFICATION OF THE TRANSLATIONAL PLAGIARISM. Mirko Spiroski. Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia” we are participating in the Second Mediterranean Seminar on Science Writing, Editing and Publishing, in Sarajevo on 08.12.2018.
Open Access Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences was registered on 30.08.2018 in the Global Brand Database of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the next ten years. This registration will increase the transparency and quality of the journal and stabilize the constant development of scientific information.
From 8-9. In May, 2019, the second Congress of General Medicine Students was held at UGD – Shtip, and the Scientific Board announced the best scientific papers, which were financially rewarded by the Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI. One prize in the amount of € 500 was awarded for the Best Oral Presentation, which went to Aleksandar Longurov. The other prize, again in the amount of € 500, was awarded for the Best Poster Presentation and went to Kiril Mitev. The two best presentations, in addition to cash prizes, secured free publication of their papers in the renowned “Open Access Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences” (Article 674 and Article 586).
In Ohrid from 27-29. May 2019, the traditional 42nd International Medical Student Congress was held. At the congress, the SPIROSKI Scientific Foundation awarded 500 € each for the best oral presentation (Beata Adrianovich from Poland), for the best poster (Stefan Spiric from Serbia) and for the best case report (Martina Savovska from the Republic of Macedonia). Two of the three awarded papers published their papers in the renowned “Open Access Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences” (Article 587 and Article 582)
In June 2019, Prof. Dr. Mirko Spiroski was appointed as a certified mentor at Publons with the opportunity to train young reviewers how to successfully review scientific papers.
In November, 2019 Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI becomes a partner of Publons. Publons (now Clarivate) collects peer review information and builds public reviewer profiles for participating reviewers. The Publons profile displays the researcher’s verified review history across all journals, without revealing any sensitive information about the manuscript.
Two scientific journals published by the Scientific Foundation SPIROSKI are included in Publons:
1. Open Access Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences (OAMJMS) – Publication Fee
2. South-East European Journal of Architecture and Design (SEEJAD) – Free of Charge publication
The first review of a paper by Prof. Dr Mirko Spiroski in Frontiers in Immunology was published in November 2019.
In December 2019, we participated in the meeting of medical students at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje.
